"Science Fiction" and "Fantasy" are terms that often have blurred boundaries. Many stories that seemed like fantasy at the time they were written have come to look more like prophetic science. Quite a lot of science fiction involves technology which is inexplicable in today's terms. As Arthur Clarke put it, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Magic is the label applied by those who witness phenomena without comprehension. Personally, I'm very much on the side of science, but I'd still like to believe in a little magic in the world, somewhere, perhaps in the hidden places.
